LETTER TO PMG NK REGION REGARDING ENGAGING STAFF ON SUNDAY DUTIES

ALL INDIA POSTAL EMPLOYEES’ UNION POSTMEN &GROUP D

                             Karnataka Circle, Bangalore.
………………………………………………………………………………….
Ref: Staff/2012.                                                                Date: 10.02.2012
To:
The Chief Postmaster General,   . The Postmaster General,
 N.K.Region, Dharwad at Bangalore.
Karnataka Circle, Bangalore.
Madam/Sir,
Sub: Engaging staff on Sundays and undue pressure upon postmen not proper – necessary instructions sought for.
In spite of directorate instructions on the subject it is seen that some divisional heads are still insisting on bringing postmen for Sunday duty.  A copy of the letter issued by Divisional head Raichur is enclosed which is self explanatory.
You may be aware that it is because of the hard work of postmen Adhar related speed post articles are being delivered without any problem and delivery efficiency is also increased to the considerable extent.  So, forcing staff to attend Sunday duties without rest and recreation is inhuman and against natural law.
Kindly look into the matter and cause to stop such practice, by proper instructions to all concerned. Self imposed pressure and initiatives already undertaken by postmen to delivery Adhar ID speed articles are more than sufficient we strongly feel.  This may be got verified for confirmation please.
Hoping favourable action, under intimation of nature of action taken.
Thanking you,
                                                                                                                Yours faithfully,

                                                                                                                  V.PURUSHOTTAM
                                                                                                                    Circle Secretary.
